At the end of June I headed out east with Larry/Ben to hit Jeannie's wedding. Our stops were to include, Boston, Philly, Jersey (for the wedding) and then D.C. for me while Larry hit Atlanta for a Braves game on the 4th. A hectic schedule in oppresive summer heat - only Larry and I could pull it off - and only with the help of dunkin' donuts!

So, this is all reverse, but after a long day (which is depicted below) we were welcome with warm, if not sweaty arms, of familiar faces from Iowa. Adam and Jessica are in Boston as is Nathan.

Nathan and Larry, reunited!

Larry, Jess and Adam outside the brew place where we ate.

It was time for Larry to lead the way - that way was the Freedom Trail. Ordinarily a happy trail, but in summer hear near the Fourth of July, the death march!

This is space left blank because I did not scan an appropriate picture for the spot. Sorry.

Somehow, this sign just outside the U.S.S. Constitution was attention-getting.

Ropes, netting, guns, poop decks, seamen - all a very rich part of our country's history.

As we waited for the Iowa City folks to arive - at the A.B.P. across from Harvard Yard.

The Freedom Trail never ends! But here we are near the church where the signal, one by sea, two by land became famous. I forget which one it was. I think one.

Ahoy! Me and Larry on the U.S.S. Constitution!

Yes, that is a big gun.

Sadly, Faniel Hall - where Kerry had to concede!

Oh good lord! What would the Founding Fathers say

This picture, perhaps, best describes the end of the first day. Of course, the east coast being the east coast meant my bags were delayed, there were thunderstorms and oppresive heat!
